Delicate lace coasters made through a traditional bobbin lace technique, then embellished with a selection of stones for a subtle glow. Handmade by Smiley in India and beaded in Manila, these are designed to cover your glass or bowl, or to be used as a decorative base. Glass covers were once in every home, when meals were unhurried and table linens reflected a practice of presentation, care, and attention. In the same manner they were made, we hope these remind us to slow down. Comes in a set of two, packaged in a pouch.
Also referred to as ‘Pillow Lace’, a pattern is set on a pillow and pinned in place, followed by a technique of twisting and crossing threads held on bobbins. Each piece takes 2-3 days to make.
