Raffia weaving is one of the oldest Boholano crafts. Raffia fibers, sourced from young buri leaf sheaths, grow abundantly in Bohol, and loom weaving has been one of the most important local industries since the 1800’s. Raffia fibers are also often sourced from adjoining provinces Cebu and Siquijor.
